# CeleBreak match hosts: Organisers vs referees

# CeleBreak Match Hosts vs. Referees

At CeleBreak, we organize different types of matches, but they all share one thing: they are **friendly games focused on fun, community, and fair play**.

In every match, there will always be a **CeleBreak match host** who prepares and supervises the game. However, **the host is not a referee**. 

Unless clearly stated otherwise, CeleBreak pick-up games **do NOT include referees**.

### 🧐 What this means for your game experience
Because there is no referee, the games are based on **trust, respect, and player responsibility**:

* We don’t use cards in regular games — they’re not necessary in a friendly setting
* Fouls, if committed, are **called directly by the players involved**
* There is **no offside rule** — but don’t be *that* player who waits up front; play as a team and keep the game enjoyable for everyone

### 🙂‍↕️ What to expect from a CeleBreak Match Host
Your match host is there to **facilitate a great experience**, not to control the game like a referee:
* Welcome you and help you connect with other players
* Create **fair and balanced teams**, and adjust them if needed
* Maintain a **friendly, positive atmosphere**, stepping in only when necessary
* Provide all required materials (balls, bibs, etc.)
* Help organize **goalkeeper rotation**
* Keep the community healthy by addressing **toxic behaviour**

### 🙂‍↔️ What NOT to expect from a CeleBreak Match Host
It’s just as important to understand the limits of the host’s role:
* They **do not act as referees**
* They **won’t step in to play**, even if players are missing
* Count goals and **keep the score** of the match
* They do no decide about cancellations, refunds, or other support related requests

This is intentional — their role is to supervise and support the game. Playing could put them in vulnerable situations and increase the risk of injury or exhaustion.


| CeleBreak games work because everyone takes responsibility. The goal isn’t strict competition, it’s a fun, social, and respectful football experience.
