What Happens if a Game Is Not Full?
CeleBreak games usually fill up and are rarely canceled due to a lack of players. However, it’s important to understand the difference between a confirmed game and a full game.
Confirmed vs. Full
- Confirmed means the game has reached the minimum number of players required and will be played.
- Full means there are no spots left.
A game does not need to be full to be confirmed. Even if there are still open spots, the game will still go ahead as long as the minimum number of players has been reached. The format of the game might change slightly. For example; a scheduled 8vs8 game might be played 7vs7 or 6vs6.
Minimum number of players (general guidelines)
The minimum required to confirm a game depends on the format and may vary slightly by city or field size.
Standard minimums
- 5 vs 5 + 2 subs – Minimum: 10 players
- 6 vs 6 – Minimum: 10 players
- 7 vs 7 – Minimum: 10 players
- 8 vs 8 – Minimum: 12 players
- 9 vs 9 – Minimum: 14 players
- 11 vs 11 – Minimum: 20 players
Private sessions
Private sessions must be fully paid to be confirmed.
- The minimum number of players equals the maximum capacity.
- If the session is not fully paid 48 hours before kick-off, it will be canceled.
So what happens if the minimum is not reached
If a match does not reach the required minimum number of players 1.5–2 hours before kick-off, the game will be canceled.
In that case:
- Players will be notified in the game’s Chat.
- All registered players will automatically receive a full refund in credits to their app balance.
- Alternative available games may be suggested.
Special Situations & Exceptions
Minimum not reached
We always try to make games happen when possible. Sometimes, if a confirmed game (e.g., 12:00) finishes and the next game (e.g., 13:00) is slightly short of players, we may coordinate with players and Match Hosts to allow some players to stay and join the next match. When this happens:
- We confirm everything in the Game Chat.
- The match will only go ahead with clear communication and agreement.
Last minute drop-outs
Although rare due to our cancellation policy, it may happen that shortly before kick-off (within the 1.5-hour window), several players drop out unexpectedly. If this causes the game to fall below the minimum:
- The match may need to be canceled last minute.
- All registered players will receive a full credit refund.
- We will always try to (additionally) compensate affected users appropriately for the inconvenience. For example when the players have already left home or reached the field.
